My First Reconciliation
My first experience with the Sacrament of Reconciliation was in second grade. I remember being very nervous to tell the priest my sins. In school, we learned the Act of Contrition and we recited it before going to the priests. Waiting on line to confess was very nerve-wracking for me but after I went I realized it wasn't that bad! The priest was very nice and I completed my penance right there in church. Although my first experience with Reconciliation was a little scary, it was an unforgettable moment to be cleansed of my sins! Reconciliation At My Local Parish Reconciliation is offered at my church, St. Agnes Cathedral in Rockville Centre, on a weekly basis. It is offered on Monday's after the 7:30 PM mass as well as Wednesday morning following the 7:45 AM and 12:10 PM masses. Since it's also important to receive confession before Holy Days, it is also available Saturdays and the Eve of Holy Days at 4:00 to 4:45 PM Examination of Conscience An Examination of Conscience is a personal process in which a person remembers and identified their sins in order to recall them in confession. Examination of Conscience is how you can prepare for Reconciliation. |
